Department of Homeland Security Preparedness Grants: A Summary and Issues (October 2016)

This Congressional Research Service report is a brief summary of the development of the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS’s) role in providing homeland security assistance, a summary of the current homeland security programs managed by DHS, and a discussion of the following policy questions: (1) the purpose and number of programs; (2) the use of homeland security assistance program funding; and (3) the funding amounts for the programs.

Global Terrorism Database

The Global Terrorism Database (GTD) is an open-source database including information on over 150,000 terrorist events around the world from 1970 through 2015 (with annual updates planned for the future).
